The park is best know for its density of baobab trees and year-round proliferation of elephants, but predators are also well represented, the birdlife is excellent, and from July until November large herds of migrant grazers are drawn to the perennial water of the Tarangire River.
The park takes its name from the Tarangire river which crosses it lengthwise, giving support to a large number of wildlife population during the dry season. Tarangire is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for unusually large animals population. You can have your picnic luncheon while in the game view or hot meals at the lodge or hotel. Later afternoon guests can either drive back to Kilemakyaro Mt. Lodge or head on to another safari or Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure.
